Post Conference Report

INTED2009 took place in Valencia from 9th to 11th of March, 2009.
It was held in the Convention Centre – Hotel Meliá Valencia Palace.

This successful third edition received 370 Attendants from 51 countries and every continent.

WELCOME SPEECH

In the Welcome Speech on Monday 9th we could count with the participation of represented politicians of Valencia and our Organizing Committee:

SESSIONS: ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Five oral parallel sessions classified per topics included contributions from a large number of professionals from more than 100 Universities organised in the following main tracks in the conference programme:

In addition, four poster sessions with 100 presentations took place in the Poster Hall which permitted to interact with other attendants. They included these topics:

  • Research & International Projects & University-Industry Collaboration

VIRTUAL PRESENTATIONS

There is also a third type of presentation for people who can not attend in person: the Virtual Presentation. All these participants receive all the certificates and documents after the Conference. All their contributions are also included in INTED2009 Publications.

INTED2009 counted with 300 Virtual Presentations.

COFFEES AND COCKTAILS

During the two days of the Conference attendants could enjoy of a wide variety of typical Spanish food in the coffees and cocktails offered.

INTERNET ACCESS POINT

An Internet Access Point with 5 computers was available for the attendants to make their work easier during Conference days.

SOCIAL ACTIVITY

On Wednesday 11th the participants could enjoy the social activity: a touristic guided visit to Valencia:

A tour of the historical city centre and the most modern part of the city

Visit to the most outstanding monuments in the medieval city: North Station, Serranos and Quart Towers, Central Market, Lonja (Old Silk Exchange), Round Square, Cathedral, Holy Virgin Square as well as the exteriors of the Basilica and the Generalitat Palace. In the most modern part of the city the highlight is the new landmark of Valencia, the City of Arts & Sciences, an architectural complex designed by top architect Santiago Calatrava; located in the former Turia riverbed.
